September 2023/2024 Admissions:

Primary School Applications for West Sussex are now closed.  Our open morning was on Saturday 7th October 2023. If you missed this and would like to visit the school, please contact the school office on 01903 871214.

Although Clapham and Patching CofE Primary School is an academy, starting school admissions are still the responsibility of West Sussex County Council.

Under the Education Act parents or carers can express a preference for any school but do not have the right to choose a school. West Sussex Education Authority does however make every effort to meet parental preference where possible. 

The application process for children to start primary school starts in October each year. All West Sussex resident parents must complete an application for a primary school place by the closing date detailed on the West Sussex County Council admissions page.

Please note that parents resident outside West Sussex will need to apply direct to the relevant local authority for their home address.

As we are a Church of England School, we do have a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) that can be completed (please see below and our admissions policy below)

IN YEAR APPLICATIONS:

For in year applications, please feel free to contact the school directly for information.

We are our Own Admissions Authority (OAA). For Applications forms can be obtained by contacting the schools Admissions Office either by telephone 01903 871214 or email office@claphamandpatching.co.uk. On receipt all applications are considered, and a response will be given in writing with 10 school days during school term time. Applications received during the school holidays will be dealt with at the beginning of the next term after receipt. In the case that we are unable to offer a place a written response will usually be made via email and details will be provided about the right to appeal. The Admissions Policy for the school can be found on the website or a copy can be requested using the contact details for the school given above.

SCHOOL VISITS:

Clapham and Patching CofE Primary School is keen to welcome prospective new students to tour the school by individual appointment, please email office@claphamandpatching.co.uk to arrange.

WAITING LISTS:

In the event of oversubscription, Clapham and Patching C of E Primary School will maintain waiting lists for all year groups in accordance with the school's oversubscription criteria. Please refer to our Admissions Policy below.

APPEALS:

Admission Appeals will be considered by an Independent Appeals Panel organised by Clapham and Patching C of E Primary School in association with WSCC.
