Our Guinea Pigs

Meet 'Daisy' and 'dandelion' our resident guinea pigs!

At Clapham and Patching CofE Primary School, we are proud to introduce two very special members of our school community - Daisy and Dandelion, our much-loved resident therapy guinea pigs!

These gentle little companions bring comfort, calm, and plenty of smiles to children and staff alike every single day.

Having Daisy and Dandelion as part of our school family brings enormous benefits:

  • Promotes emotional wellbeing
  • Encourages empathy and compassion
  • Boosts engagement and motivation
  • Creates joyful shared experiences
  • Supports children who may find the school day challenging

Even staff members enjoy spending a few quiet minutes with them - proving that guinea pig therapy works wonders at any age!

Daisy and Dandelion are cared for with great love and responsibility. The children help with feeding routines, preparing fresh vegetables and ensuring their enclosure is clean and comfortable. This builds life skills while strengthening our sense of community.

They may be small, but their impact is enormous.

Next time you hear a gentle squeak in the corridor, you’ll know Daisy and Dandelion are nearby – spreading calm, kindness and cuddles throughout Clapham and Patching Primary School.
